The Recipe
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 c. warm water
1 Tbs. yeast
1 tsp. sugar or honey
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 cube butter, melted
Garlic salt
Parsley flakes
Grated parmesan cheese
INSTRUCTIONS
Mix water, yeast and sugar together in small bowl. Work until foamy. In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt together with a whisk. Make a well in the middle of flour and pour in yeast mixture. Mix together and knead until dough is smooth, adding more flour if needed. Let it rest for a few minutes. Roll out into a rectangle and cut into strips. Pour melted butter onto rimmed baking sheet. Dip each stick in butter, coating both sides, and laying side by side. Sprinkle with garlic salt, crushed parsley and Parmesan cheese. Let rise 30-45 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 16-20 minutes.
Halloween Tip: Turn your breadsticks into mummies by rolling extra dough into thin strands and wrapping them around the flat strips. After they are cooked use a food coloring pen or edible candy eyes to create a mummy face.
